Public Footpath

A one-of-a-kind pullover made in collaboration with Bristol Cloth and Public Footpath.

A layer for leisurely strolls, the Pootle pullover has an oversized and genderless fit. Wooden toggled ties make the sleeve length adjustable.

ABOUT PUBLIC FOOTPATH

Public Footpath is a love letter to nature. Every process, material and garment seeks to take as little from the planet as possible, using forgotten and unwanted textiles that already exist. These foraged fabrics are regenerated into made-to-last garments which use every inch and leave no waste.

Each piece is a step on a journey towards a kinder and more purposeful future for fashion.

ABOUT THE PIECE

This piece is a new chapter for the Pootle Pullover, a design originally conceived to brave frosty walks in Mendips.

The main body uses Bristol cloth, a textile which is farmed in the very same hills then dyed and woven all within a 15 mile radius of the city.

On the inside lies the magic of Botanical Inks natural colours. Logwood lined pockets and the softest touch of sunshine coloured silk as you pull it over your face, arms and torso.

Remnant yarns from the cloth are embroidered back into itself depicting a soil-to-soil story, crafted in the essence of it’s natural circular process; taken from nature and given back in reciprocal honour.

Woollen ties and wooden toggles have been used for the adjustable cuffs to ensure the garment is fully biodegradable and can return back into the ground at the end of its useful life cycle.
